Dr. Ojong engages development theory with policy and practice. Drawing on political economy and economic sociology, his current research investigates how political, social and cultural factors influence the financial practices of the population at the base of the pyramid. His other research interests include gender and development, sustainable livelihoods, microfinance, informal finance, informal economy, social economy, and informal risk sharing networks.
